Berg, i hvis Brød Toksvig arbejdede, og Nykøbingskredsens Folketingsmand, Korsgaard. Og mellem disse to kom det til en uforsonlig Kamp. Toksvig fulgte Korsgaard og blev som Følge deraf kastet ud af sin Stilling ved det bergske Blad. Med Støtte af Korsgaard oprettede han det selvstændige ”Nykøbing Venstreblad” i 1892, gennem hvis Spalter han forfægtede sin Politik. Men Overmagten var for stor. Korsgaard faldt ved Valget i 1892, og da han ved de følgende Valg ikke opnaaede Oprejsning for Nederlaget, kølnedes hans Interesse for Odsherred og Nykøbing Venstreblad, og han trak sig tilbage. Hermed var Grundlaget for Toksvigs Virksomhed gledet bort, og de følgende Aar blev for ham en gigantisk Kamp med Mistænkeliggørelse og Fattigdom, der i 1905 tvang han til endelig at give op og lade Bladet gaa ind.</ins></div></td></tr>
